Laureano "Larry" Bal-Lance is a seasoned hair artist, educator, and co-founder of Bal-Lance Salon — one of Saratoga's most recognized luxury salon destinations. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Larry brings a rare combination of technical precision, creative vision, and a genuine passion for mentoring the next generation of artists.
Larry began his career in 2014, immersing himself in the craft while still completing his cosmetology education. After graduating in 2015, he continued building his foundation at a professional salon before advancing to an assisting role at one of San Jose's top luxury salons in 2016. In 2017, he sought deeper artistic development and joined forces with Brandon Bal-Lance in Mountain View — a pivotal moment that would shape the trajectory of his career and ultimately lead to the creation of Bal-Lance Salon.
In 2018, Larry expanded his technical education with the Vidal Sassoon ABC Women's Haircutting Course, followed by the Vidal Sassoon ABC Men's Cutting Course in 2019 — sharpening the precision cutting skills he is known for today. That same year, he earned his certification as a Schwarzkopf Professional Educator, a distinction that reflects his deep commitment to education, color mastery, and industry leadership.
Larry holds additional advanced certifications in Keratin Complex Smoothing, I-Tip Extensions, Tape-In Extensions, and Beaded Weft Extensions — making him one of the most comprehensively trained stylists in the South Bay.
In February 2021, Larry co-founded Bal-Lance Salon, a 20-station luxury salon in the heart of downtown Saratoga. Since opening, he has served as Director and Branded Mentor — guiding the salon's team of artists, upholding its standards of excellence, and building meaningful relationships with guests and beauty influencers alike.
Larry's approach to hair is rooted in artistry, education, and connection. Every guest who sits in his chair leaves not just looking their best, but feeling it.
